Amasa. The general of Absalom (2 Sam. 17:25). Amasa was David’s nephew (2 Sam. 19:13). Hence Joab the son of Zeruiah (1 Chron. 2:16; 2 Sam. 2:18 ; 17:25) and Amasa were cousins.
