Is Christ divided? The absurdity of the question is immediately apparent. Was Paul crucified? The form of the question in the Greek implies a negative answer. The force of the question is revealed in the translation: “Paul was not crucified for you, was he?” Paul tactfully uses himself as an example rather than Apollos or Peter. In the name of Paul.
