Theological / Devotional

Called. That is, effectively called. For such, the invitation has not only been given; it has also been accepted. For this meaning of “called” see on Rom. 8:28, 30. Both Jews and Greeks. See on Rom. 1:16. All true Christians, irrespective of nationality or cultural opportunities and privileges, recognize Jesus as the One through whom the power of God is exercised for their salvation. They see that God’s plan for man’s redemption is wise, that it removes all barriers and brings men of all types and training together into one great community of loving fellowship.
