Theological / Devotional

The Lord’s. A quotation from Ps. 24:1. This passage was later used by Jews as a common form of thanksgiving before a meal (Talmud Shabbath 119a, Soncino ed., p. 586). Whether the custom was already established in the time of Paul or was practiced in Corinth is uncertain. God causes all things to grow. He provides for the needs of His children (see on 1 Tim. 4:4).
