Theological / Devotional

Some good thing. To allow this son to die was no doubt an act of mercy on the part of God. God saw what goodness there was in the heart of the young man, and dealt with him accordingly. There is something singularly pathetic in this announcement of death as the only reward possible in view of the coming judgments. There are times when even death is a blessing to the righteous.
