How long halt ye? The people of Israel stood at the crossroads. Would they reject forever the God who had established them as a separate people, and accept Baal as their master and lord? If Jehovah was God, He was the one who should be worshiped. If Baal was God, they should follow him. The challenge was presented, and the people were given an opportunity to express themselves.
