Theological / Devotional

Hast not asked. Here is God’s own confirmation of the wisdom of Solomon’s request. He modestly asked for wisdom, which would bring all the other blessings of life in its train. “Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding” (Prov. 3:13). “Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her” (Prov. 3:17, 18). “Whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the Lord. But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul” (Prov. 8:35,36). This is the great law underlying the divine government concerning which Jesus said: “Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matt. 6:33).
