Theological / Devotional

The month Bui. This was the early Hebrew name for the eighth month that began about the middle of October. Bui means rain, and hence probably signifies the month of rain. After the Exile it was called Marheshvan, later abbreviated to Heshvan. Such details as the month and year of Solomon’s reign when the work on the Temple was begun and completed, and the use of such archaic words as the early Hebrew month names, constitute vital evidence of the authenticity of this document.
