Commentary on 1 Kings 7:14

Theological / Devotional

Naphtali. In 2 Chron. 2:14 we are told that Hiram was the son of a woman of Dan. This is correct, for he was a descendant on his mother’s side of Aholiab of the tribe of Dan, to whom, hundreds of years before, God had given special wisdom (PK 63).

There is not necessarily a discrepancy, for there may have been an earlier marriage of the woman into the tribe of Naphtali.
