Theological / Devotional

Blessed be the Lord. Solomon is blessing the people, but his first thoughts again are of God, who alone is the source of all blessing. With heart filled with joy and gratitude, and with a spirit of deep emotion, he makes mention of what God had done for his father David, conveying to David His purpose concerning the Temple. It was through the prophet Nathan that God had revealed to David the fact that not he but his son Solomon was to build the house of the Lord (2 Sam. 7:4-13).
