Theological / Devotional

Forgive. Solomon recognized that every man who sends a prayer heavenward stands in need of forgiveness. This sense of guilt and of the need of Heaven’s forgiveness is found all through the earnest prayer offered by Solomon in behalf of himself and his people (vs. 34, 36, 39, 50). Solomon knew that forgiveness of sin would be the earnest desire of those who prayed. He also knew that man’s hope of receiving an answer to his petitions would rest largely on the sin-pardoning grace of God.
