1 Thessalonians 5:25

Pray for us. Paul constantly prays for his converts (chs. 1:2, 3; 5:23). He now pleads for their prayers on behalf of himself and his companions (cf. Rom. 15:30; 2 Cor. 1:11; Eph. 6:18, 19; Col. 4:3). There is no selfishness in this request, for his ambitions concern only the free course of the gospel message which he was called to proclaim (2 Thess. 3:1). Ministers and laymen need one another’s prayers, and both should pray that nothing be allowed to hinder the advance of the gospel message to the ends of the earth (5T718).
