Commentary on 2 Chronicles 26:16

Theological / Devotional

Transgressed against the Lord. Under ordinary circumstances only the priests were allowed to enter the Temple, and only they were permitted to offer incense on the golden altar before the veil (see Num. 18:1-7). Uzziah was guilty of presumption in his attempt to assume this sacred priestly prerogative.
