Theological / Devotional

His high places. Compare 2 Kings 18:22. The Assyrians had a wrong impression of the nature of Hezekiah’s reform, for it was the altars, not of Jehovah, but of the heathen gods introduced by Ahaz, that were taken away by Hezekiah (see chs. 28:23, 25; 31:1); and the high places, even though used for the worship of Jehovah, were at least semipagan.
