Theological / Devotional

Jews’ speech. After having mentioned the letter sent by the envoys on their second trip to Jerusalem, the chronicler now either returns to an incident that occurred early in the first visit (2 Kings 18:28), which he gives in a greatly abbreviated form, or mentions a second propaganda attempt “to affright them, and to trouble” the people.
