Theological / Devotional

Came not. Upon receiving Isaiah’s rebuke, Hezekiah humbled himself and accepted the will of the Lord. This repentance is not recorded in Kings or Isaiah, but the consequent deferment of the sentence that had been pronounced is recorded, together with Hezekiah’s grateful response (2 Kings 20:19; Isa. 39:8). As a result of Hezekiah’s repentance the blow from Babylon did not fall till the days of Nebuchadnezzar, a century later.
