Theological / Devotional

Chiefest. Heb. ma‘aleh, “a going up,” “an ascent” (Num. 34:4), the meaning of which is not entirely clear. It may refer to an upper location, so that Hezekiah was buried in a higher part of the royal tombs, above the sepulchers of the kings who had preceded him upon the throne of Judah.
