According to the saying. What Jehu did was as the Lord had foretold (1 Kings 21:21, 22). But he evidently went on beyond what God had required of him in his endeavor to stamp out all possible opposition, for the Lord later declared that He was planning to “avenge the blood of Jezreel upon the house of Jehu” (Hosea 1:4).
