Theological / Devotional

Took a chest. This was at the direction of the king (2 Chronicles 24:8).

Beside the altar. The altar of burnt offering, in the court. According to 2 Chronicles 24:8, it was set “without at the gate of the house of the Lord.” Either these are two different descriptions of the same spot, or the chest was moved during the course of the collections.
