Ben-hadad. Benhadad III. The first king by that name was a contemporary of Asa (1 Kings 15:18), and the second a contemporary of Ahab and Jehoshaphat (1 Kings 20:1, 34). On the inscriptions of the Assyrian king Adad-nirari III, Ben-hadad appears under the name Mari’, an Aramaic title meaning “my lord.”
