Theological / Devotional

Was confirmed. There was obviously a period of unrest and confusion after the murder of Joash of Judah (2 Kings 12:20, 21), during which time the new king doubtless experienced difficulty in asserting and maintaining his rights. When these troubles had passed and the authority of the king had been established throughout the nation, he was in a position to take effective measures against the murderers of his father.
