Theological / Devotional

Received the letter. The Assyrian envoys probably presented their message both orally and in writing—orally to Hezekiah’s envoys, since Hezekiah would himself probably not come out to see them, and in writing, so that the letter itself might be delivered to the king.

Spread it. As if the message was addressed as much to the God of Israel as to the king.
