Commentary on 2 Kings 19:6

Theological / Devotional

Be not afraid. Only a short time before, Hezekiah admonished his people with these same words (2 Chron. 32:7). Now this same admonition came to him from God.

The human tendency is to fear in an hour of crisis, but the Lord in His mercy sends messages of encouragement (see Num. 14:9; Joshua 1:6, 7, 9, 18; Isa. 43:1, 5; Luke 12:32).
