To be healed. Having mentioned that Joram was holding Ramoth-gilead, the writer, to prevent a misconception, repeats what he has previously stated (chapter 8:29) about Joram’s personal return to Jezreel to be healed of the wounds he had received at the siege.
If it be your minds. Jehu is giving his first orders as king. Instead of being harsh and arbitrary he wants his men to know that their wishes are to be considered. If they deem it wise, and if they are with him in the present enterprise, then they may carry out his proposal.
Let none go forth. Should word regarding what had occurred get to Joram at Jezreel, things might go hard with the conspirators. The order again makes it clear that Ramoth-gilead was in Israelite hands, for if the city had been still under siege, there would have been no point in such directions as these.
