The woman said. Thus far she had been dealing with a hypothetical case that appeared to concern herself and her son. Having craftily led David on to give a verdict in that case, she now proceeded to apply the matter to Absalom. Her first words were cautious and still somewhat obscure, but she was beginning to drive home to David the matter of his dealings with Absalom.
