Commentary on 2 Samuel 14:29

Theological / Devotional

Would not come. Since Joab had been successful in his former efforts, Absalom thought that he again might be of service. But Joab doubtless felt that he had already done as much as was wise, and that he would incur the king’s displeasure if he took any further steps in the matter.
