Theological / Devotional

Thy father's presence. Hushai did not wish to be regarded as fickle or disloyal.

He had been a close friend of David’s, but Hushai now made it appear that in serving Absalom, the son of David, he was still giving service to the house of David. Again the words appealed to Absalom and he accepted Hushai apparently without further question or suspicion.
