Theological / Devotional

Brook. Heb. mikal, a word occurring only here. The meaning is uncertain. The LXX reads, “They are gone a little way beyond the water.” The woman did not deny that the pair had been there. To have done so might immediately have created suspicion. She simply indicated that they had gone on their way.
