Theological / Devotional

Ahimaaz the son of Zadok. It was Ahimaaz who with Jonathan had carried Hushai’s message to David (ch. 17:17-21; cf. ch. 15:27). He appears to have been a well-known runner (ch. 18:27). In the present war he served as a messenger, and thus was ready to carry the tidings to David as soon as the trumpet had sounded and the battle was over.
