Theological / Devotional

Into mourning. God had given victory to the forces of David, and they had real reason for rejoicing. The rebellion was over, David was restored to his throne, and the nation had been spared the horrors of a long, costly civil war. But the people found that the city was filled with sorrow instead of joy, because of David’s grief over the death of his son.
