Theological / Devotional

The son of Saul. That is, the grandson of Saul. Mephibosheth also felt it wise to come to David as early as possible to declare his loyalty to him. After David’s flight Mephibosheth had observed the signs of deepest mourning for him, as evidenced by his neglect of his person, thus proving his loyalty to David’s cause.
