Theological / Devotional

Any more. Heb. ‘od, literally, “still,” “yet,” “again.” The word expresses continuance but not necessarily endless duration. Here the duration is definitely limited, for “there was long war between the house of Saul and the house of David” (ch. 3:1). The words “any more” simply mark the termination of this particular war.
