Theological / Devotional

Zadok and Abiathar. Earlier Zadok and “Ahimelech the son of Abiathar” were named as the priests (ch. 8:17). The present list, however, is for a later period of David’s reign, and it is surprising, therefore, to see that the son seems to have preceded his father as priest.
