Ira also the Jairite. This officer is not listed in ch. 8:16-18 nor in 1 Chron. 18:14-17. It has been conjectured that “Ira an Ithrite,” listed among David’s mighty men in 2 Sam. 23:38, may be the same man, but the Word is silent on this point.
