Talked with him. Peter’s subsequent remarks indicate that Cornelius told the apostle many things not specifically mentioned in the text.

He went in. Apparently the preceding part of the interview was conducted near the entry of the house. Cornelius’ action in coming forth to meet Peter was in the spirit of the centurion in the Gospel, who said, “I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof.”

Many. The personality and conduct of Cornelius had won him many friends, and in his enthusiasm and faith he had brought them together to see and hear a man of whom he knew nothing.
