Theological / Devotional

Fulfilled all. The prophecies pointing to Jesus’ cruel treatment and death circumstances.

They took him down. Paul appears to say those who condemned Jesus also took Him down. In reality, Joseph of Arimathaea and Nicodemus took Him down and buried Him, apparently uninvolved in condemnation (Luke 23:50, 51; John 19:39). Their removal was in harmony with Jewish leaders’ desire (John 19:31). Paul’s summary generalizes.
