Theological / DevotionalSeen many days. Paul speaks as one convinced by witnesses. He expands this in 1 Cor. 15:3-8. See Additional Note on Matt. 28.
From Galilee to Jerusalem. Apostles and most followers were from Galilee. Before crucifixion, followers were popularly called Galileans (Mark 14:70). Paul asserts this despite official and popular contempt (John 7:52; Acts 1:46).
Who are his witnesses. Textual evidence is divided between this and “who now are His witnesses.” Without mentioning Jesus’ ascension, Paul implies He was no longer on earth. The emphasis is on witnesses who were with Christ during incarnation. Paul did not mention his own vision here (1 Cor. 15:8).
