Theological / Devotional

Filled with joy. The verb form implies a continuing experience. Such joy is normal after conversion.

With the Holy Ghost. The infilling may imply gifts like tongues and prophecy, but apart from gifts it stimulated spiritual life and joy. The new faith’s freshness to Gentile converts may have led to more outward joy than Jewish converts (Rom. 14:17; Acts 2:4 ; 15:9).
