Acts 19:12

Handkerchiefs or aprons that had touched Paul's body were carried to the sick, and diseases departed. The handkerchiefs (sudaria) wiped sweat from the face; aprons (semicinctia) were short aprons worn by artisans. Sincere persons came to Paul as he labored at his craft and were given these items. Their effectiveness is comparable to the hem of the Lord's garment and the clay used in healing the blind man. Divine healing requires divine power and faith; material things serve as vehicles for faith. In Ephesus, where exorcism and witchcraft were common, miraculous cures stood as special evidence of faith's power.
