They all wept sore. Literally, “there was much weeping by all.” No more impressive evidence could have been given of their high esteem and tender affection.

Fell on Paul’s neck. An Eastern form of embrace at meeting or parting (see Gen. 33:4; 45:14; 46:29; Luke 15:20). Paul’s friends loved him.
