Theological / Devotional

Delivering thee. This and other details of the experience are not mentioned in previous accounts (Acts 9:22). This was not a promise that the Lord would keep Paul out of danger, but that He would be with him in times of danger.

The people. That is, the Jews, as contrasted with the Gentiles (cf. v. 23).

I send thee. The pronoun “I” is emphatic. No less a personage than Jesus Himself invests Paul with apostleship.
