Theological / Devotional

Meat. See on v. 33. Health. Gr. soteria, “salvation,” here in the physical sense (cf. v. 31). Shall not an hair fall. Textual evidence attests (cf. p. 10) the reading “not a hair shall be lost,” or “not a hair shall perish.” This figure of speech is a familiar Biblical expression for complete deliverance (see Luke 21:18; cf. 1 Sam. 14:45; 2 Sam. 14:11; 1 Kings 1:52).
