Theological / Devotional

Some on boards. Literally, “some on any [parts].” This is a vivid description of escape from a sinking ship, of survivors seizing pieces of the ship as it broke to pieces in the waves or as it was torn apart by hand. Escaped all safe. That is, all escaped safely, in keeping with God’s promise to Paul, and Paul’s assurance to those on the ship (v. 24).
