Officers. Gr. huperetai, literally, “underrowers” on a galley; later “servants,” and then “officers” serving under the Sanhedrin. See also on Luke 4:20; Acts 4:1.

Found them not. There was no external evidence of their escape from the prison (see on vs. 19, 23).
