Theological / Devotional

Suffer wrong. By smiting or blows (cf. Ex. 2:11).

Avenged him. Literally, “wrought an avenging,” and thereby undertook what should have been left to the Lord.

Smote the Egyptian. That is, killed him (see on Ex. 2:12).
