And I raised up of your sons for prophets, and of your young men for Nazarites. [Is it] not even thus, O ye children of Israel? saith the LORD.

Theological / Devotional

Prophets. Through them God revealed His will (see Num. 12:16), and through them He communicated that will to the people (see Heb. 1:1).

For Nazarites. The Nazirites vowed to abstain from strong drink, from the use of the razor, and from all ritual defilement (see on Num. 6:2-7).
