Send a fire. This prophecy was first fulfilled in the destruction of Jerusalem by the Babylonians under Nebuchadnezzar in 586 B.C. (see 2 Kings 25:8, 9; Jer. 17:27; Hosea 8:14). In A.D. 70 Jerusalem was again burned, when Roman soldiers led by Titus captured it.
