Theological / Devotional

Endanger my head. The sentence reads literally, “Ye make my head punishable with the king.” The expression does not imply capital penalty, but, as James A. Montgomery has shown, simply means that the chief eunuch would be held responsible if those who had been committed to him deteriorated physically.
