Theological / DevotionalNot betrothed. In this case the girl was not regarded as a wife, for there had been no betrothal ceremony, with its exchange of solemn promises and the payment of a sum of money.
They be found. Witnesses may have come upon them; or they may have confessed, in order to force the issue — owing to the opposition of their parents to their marriage.
