Theological / DevotionalAn Edomite. There was a permanent state of hostility between the neighboring kingdoms of Israel and Edom (Numbers 20:18-21; see on 2 Samuel 8:13).
An Egyptian. It was not to be forgotten that Israel had found refuge in Egypt for many years, and had prospered in the land despite enforced hardships.
